Participation Constraints in Adverse Selection Models
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper characterizes the optimal contract offered by an uninformed principal to an informed agent when the latter's reservation utility depends on his type. The informational rent is nonmonotonic so that interior types may have a vanishing rent or be excluded from trade. The paper identifies conditions for the optimal contract to be separating, to be nonstochastic, and to induce full participation. It also discusses the nature of the solution when bunching occurs. The results are applied to nonlinear pricing under price cap regulation and bypass competition and to competition in nonlinear pricing. Modelling and Experimental Testing of Asymmetric Information Problems in Lease and Hire Contracts (Based on Contract Theory)
This article aims to study lease and hiring contract in the Iranian-Islamic setting and analyze the asymmetric information problem in these contracts. For doing this, we study the characteristics of lease and hiring contracts in Iran (real world experimental characteristics that recognized in other studies), using library method, then we mathematically model different aspects of asymmetric info...
متن کاملExistence and continuity of the optimal contract in adverse selection models with constraints
We consider a general adverse selection model as an optimal control problem with mixed constraints. We prove that under broad conditions the optimal contract exists and is continuous.
متن کاملDoes Participation in Farmer Field School Extension Program Improve Crop Yields? Evidence from Smallholder Tea Production Systems in Kenya
Agricultural Extension services are among the most important rural services in developing countries. The services are considered to be a key driver of technological change and productivity growth in agriculture. In Kenya, like in the rest of the developing economies, agricultural extension has largely been delivered through supply–driven approaches. Due to perceived low impact of agricultural e...
متن کاملMULTIPERIOD CREDIBILITIC MEAN SEMI-ABSOLUTE DEVIATION PORTFOLIO SELECTION
In this paper, we discuss a multiperiod portfolio selection problem with fuzzy returns. We present a new credibilitic multiperiod mean semi- absolute deviation portfolio selection with some real factors including transaction costs, borrowing constraints, entropy constraints, threshold constraints and risk control. In the proposed model, we quantify the investment return and risk associated with...
متن کاملAssessment of Rural Households Participation in Cooperative Societies and Agricultural Activities in Delta State, Nigeria
The primary objective of this research is to examine the contributions of co-operatives on rural household agricultural productivity. Multistage sampling was employed in the random selection of 120 co-operators and non-cooperators respectively. But only 115 co-operators and non-cooperators were utilized for the study. The active mean age of 42 years and married female rural households with seco...
